I looked at the link; IMO, you need decide "Ice or water" gnd plane. Personally I like the foreground island's textures, so I'd go for rippled water, show off the textures & Atmos which is pretty cool also. Hope that helps

The texture of your hills look very nice, as do the shadows. But overall it's a pretty dull picture. A lot of open plain and sky which make the picture not that interesting as it could be. But after all, just my opinion.
So, how are you doing, long time no see ;p

Cheers, Thijs

Whoa, how strange, maybe a little plain, but definetily an unusual Terragen render.

Looking good, but might I suggest a few things?

First, go back to a slightly red sun reflection, you're on the right track with the shape, but it should be the same color as the sun, even if it is ice.

Second, I would change the camera location. If there is a clearing just over the foreground ridge, I would place the camera in front of that, while trying to get a little bit of the mountains on the right in the scene. Right now, the cliff side of the mountain is quite distracting.

Still, looks like it could be a good image in the end. Keep working on it! :)

Good idea on the sun color. it is currently blue ie the reason the reflection is blue. I will try that.
I will confess, we are using mod version of the overhang tech and moving the camera, even a little bit, with this has very dramatic changes
But I would like explore new options
Good feed back. :)

I get the plain comment alot. It is supposed to barren, yet I want some contrast to make it interesting too.
got any ideas along those lines?

Hey, I'm good, In iraq right now..so that kinda sucks.
Good feed back. Can you expond a bit more?
You do have a good eye so .... I trust your opion.
We want a barren, cold look. ie why there is ice and the sky as it is. I do want to make some contrast w/o killing the whole concept. I might have to anyhoo.
K, cheers, Steve

Well, all I'd do ( that hasn't already been said ) is rather than having lots of little mountains in the distance, I'd have fewer, larger ones off to the right. Just to fill the gap, anything else could just be postaowked in to make it moe interesting, like some planets and their reflections on the ice 8-)
